President Barack Obama's Plan to Bankrupt America

Five days before Barack Obama won the 2008 presidential election, he proudly stated, "We are going to fundamentally transform America." What is the status quo 11 months later? The unemployment rate is 10.2%, the dollar continues to decline, small businesses are suffering, the 2009 federal deficit is $1.4 trillion, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are exhausting US troops, and the list never ends. Based on President Obama's actions, it is clear that he is not willing to change his policies. Every presidential election year Americans are fooled into thinking that the popular candidate offers the hope and change we need in Washington. In a speech to defend his nomination for the Democratic Party at a Milwaukee dinner in 2008, Obama stated, "Just words, just speeches." President Obama's words and speeches during the 2008 presidential campaign were "just words, just speeches."First, President Barack Obama promised Americans that he would get the economy back on track. Obama promised he would end the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Obama promised to improve everything. What is actually behind President Obama's plan? Does he really want to improve the economy and bring our troops home? Does he really want to help ease the burden for small businesses? I wonder what the words "fundamentally transform America" actually mean. What is behind Obama's plan for America?

Take a look at Obama's early associations. In Dreams from my Father, Obama says, "To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students; the foreign students; the Chicanos; the Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets." The chief person to inspire Obama to become a community organizer was Saul Alinsky through his book Rules for Radicals, a guide for community organizers. Alinsky is a strong opponent of capitalism and democracy and one of his rules is to persuade the undecided by ridiculing them. The goal of him and his group of radicals was to "fundamentally transform America" into a socialist community organization.

President Obama does not say what the public does not want to hear. However, his political appointments and associations reveal his beliefs. For instance, Mark Lloyd, President Obama's Federal Communications Commission Diversity czar, stated, "In Venezuela, with Chavez, is really an incredible revolution--a democratic revolution. To begin to put in place things that are going to have an impact on the people of Venezuela." Van Jones, the former Green Jobs czar, stated, "No more broken treaties. No more broken treaties. Give them the wealth! Give them the wealth!" President Obama has stated that he supports the redistribution of wealth. In a 2001 WEBZ Chicago Public Radio interview, Obama stated, "The tragedies of the civil rights movement was--because the civil rights movement became so court focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change." Remember what Obama said to Joe the Plumber: "I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everyone." Clearly, President Obama endorses redistribution of wealth and change.

President Obama's plan will succeed through spending trillions of dollars on the stimulus package, health care, cap and trade, and the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Where has most of the stimulus package money gone? Most has gone to corporations and banks such as Goldman Sachs, General Electric, JP Morgan, Citigroup, and the rest of Wall Street. Goldman Sachs reported earning $3.19 billion between July and September of 2009. It has also gone to community organizations such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). President Obama proudly stated in a 2007 speech to SEIU members, "I have spent my entire adult life working with SEIU. I'm not a newcomer to this! I didn't just suddenly discover SEIU." The stimulus packages, first signed into law by President George W. Bush and now President Obama, have failed to fix the economy and have stalled the engines of small businesses that drive our economic growth.

The current health care bill is not about providing quality affordable health care. South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson proposed an amendment that would force members of Congress to receive the same quality of health care that is in the bill. Surprisingly, none of the members of Congress who supported the health care bill voted for the amendment. The public would receive the quality of health care that members of Congress rejected.

President Obama plans to reduce carbon gas emissions to fight global warming. However, questions have been raised regarding whether global warming exists or is caused by human activity. Recently, someone hacked into the files of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia and found that global warming researchers were deleting data that would support the skepticism of global warming as fraud. The CRU has primary influence in the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and in the global warming debate. The aggregate data collected by the CRU is inaccurate and they pressured others into not sharing the data supporting the skepticism of global warming. Even MIT Professor Richard Lindzen states that carbon dioxide is irrelevant to global warming. When President Obama goes to the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, he wants to commit the United States to reducing carbon gas emissions. With the cap-and-trade legislation awaiting a vote in the Senate, this is just another issue President Obama can spend billions of dollars on to bankrupt America.

President Obama wants to commit funds to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Why are we still there? Where are the anti-war protesters? They were passionate enough to protest the War in Iraq when Bush was president but not when Obama is president. Obama wants to spend billions of dollars on 30,000 more US troops and then withdraw them in July 2011. It is a proposal doomed for failure; General Stanley McChrystal wanted 60,000 troops to stabilize Afghanistan. What is the sense in spending billions of dollars when we are only going to have troops in Afghanistan until July 2011?
