Grant H. Leighty is from Vienna, VA, and is a junior Business Administration major. His inspiration, he says, comes from his dad, whom he says is "The hardest worker I've ever met", and his two brothers, Dane (23) and Justin (27). He says his brothers have "always been here for me and always went out of their way to help me...so now I try to give as much of me back to others." His most memorable sports moment was his 4th grade lacrosse championship. He has been playing lacrosse competitively for 12 years, and plays midfield. In typical male fashion, Grant loves all food; the most unique foods he has ever eaten are guinea pig and llama steak. His favorite color is green.

His hobbies include "snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, and collecting button-down shirts and weird hats."

Given the chance to travel anywhere in the world, Grant would go to Israel, to "walk where Jesus walked."

Currently in his IPOD is Taylor Swift, Chris Tomlin, Zac Brown Band, and Tupac. Grant's favorite sports team is the Capitals and his favorite drink is water.

His dream job is to become a lobbyist on Capital Hill. His favorite book is the Bible, and considers reading to be "vital and necessary for growth and knowledge." His favorite Bible verse is Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

His favorite vacation spot is Athens, Greece. When asked about a favorite childhood memory, Grant says, "I don't have just one, so to sum them all up would have to be the memories I had growing up with my older brothers and friends!"

When questioned about the negative perception many at Messiah have about the men's lacrosse team, Grant says, "People shouldn't judge us until you know us. We all have different backgrounds and stories which people don't understand, because they'll never get to know us."

In regards to Coach Weisenborn, Grant says, "He is the best coach I've ever had. He is devoted to making us into men, to truly make us better people.
